ChartBoomPrivacy Policy

ChartBoom makes short chart videos and runs this site, including the “What should we chart next?” idea page. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. Questions: chartboomhelp@outlook.com.
What we collect
- Your idea (up to 120 characters). Required.
- Name (optional, up to 12 characters). If your idea is approved, this may appear publicly next to it.
- Your answer to “Would you pay to skip the line?” We use it to decide whether to build that feature.
- Basic technical data our hosting provider may log for security and abuse prevention, such as IP address, browser type, and the time of your request.
Stored on your device
The idea page saves a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage: your daily submission count, your last send time, and the ideas you submitted, so you can see their status. This data is not a tracking cookie and is not shared with advertisers. Clear your browser’s site data to remove it. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on this site.
How we use it
- To review ideas, choose which ones to make, and credit you if you gave a name.
- To prevent spam and abuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Public content
Approved ideas, plus any name you gave, can show in the Global Queue and inspire videos posted on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. Don’t put private or personal information in your idea.
Third parties
Video links open on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Facebook. Those platforms follow their own privacy policies. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep pending and declined ideas, and the abuse-prevention data tied to them (a one-way hash of your IP address), for up to 12 months, then delete them or make them anonymous. Ideas that become videos may stay public.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by writing to chartboomhelp@outlook.com. Depending on where you live, for example California (CCPA/CPRA), the EU/UK (GDPR), or other US states, you may have more rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We respond within 30 days, or within the time the law requires. EU/UK users: we rely on our legitimate interest (for reviewing ideas and preventing abuse).
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 13, please don’t submit your name or an idea. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure.
Changes
When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site.
